Mertzeoro

A family-run business founded in Mamoiada, in central Sardinia. We have been involved in vineyard cultivation and wine production for twenty years.

A country that smells of wine

We have always strived to respect our land, making the most of its unique characteristics. We were fortunate to be born here, and every day through our work, we try to show our gratitude to the land

Our story

For years we have cultivated our vineyards, primarily concentrated in Baduorane, with approximately one hectare of twelve-year-old Cannonau, one of ten-year-old Granatza, and a new three-year-old planting. We also strive to diversify our production by autonomously processing the fruits from our 9-year-old Mulinu and Sa Lahana estates, which boast various and diverse characteristics. Having always focused on selling bulk wine, we began bottling in 2019, dedicating our bottle to Mertzeoro, or Melchior, the same Magi king who brought gold as a gift to Jesus. This name represents the preciousness of our wine and is named after its creator, Melchiorre Paddeu.

Love for the land

We work our vineyards and produce our wines organically, respecting and enhancing their uniqueness. We have always considered our land as a mother, being extremely attached to it. It embraces us, cradles us, and is capable of giving us everything we need, which is why, just as we would with our mother, we respect, love, and preserve it.

The vineyards

We have always made wine from every vineyard, which is why we differentiate each wine with the name "ghirada". In Mamoiada, this term is used to differentiate each plot of land by its name.
